Violet Mary-Jane Flat, Styled Four Ways
Share
One flat, four outfits, desk to dinner.
Style you'll love, comfort you'll feel.
You know the shoe. The one you slip on at 8am and completely forget about until you take it off at night, because not once did it make you think about your feet. Lately that shoe is the Violet Mary-Jane in almond, and I have worn it with just about everything I own.
Almond is the quiet hero here. It is warmer than a stark nude and softer than tan, so it plays nicely with denim, cream, chocolate brown, the lot. Here is the same pair styled four ways, from a Monday at the office to a Friday dinner. Every other piece is from an Australian label (we are an Australian company, after all), so think of it as a little Australian edit and swap in your favourite local pieces wherever you like.

Look 01
The workday
Start with the easiest upgrade a pair of jeans will ever get. A cream silk shirt takes wide-leg denim somewhere more grown up, and the almond flat keeps the whole thing easy to actually walk in. Tuck the shirt in loosely, add little gold earrings, grab your laptop, done. This is the outfit that looks like you planned it when really you had seven minutes.

Easy everyday
For coffee runs and the kind of day that is all little errands, soften everything down. A powder-blue knit over ecru jeans is quiet and pretty, the almond flat pulls the neutrals together like it was the plan all along, and the whole thing takes about four minutes to put on. Looks like effort, felt like none.

Dinner
An espresso maxi is the entire outfit, which is exactly the point. The rich brown makes the almond glow, and because the shoe is comfortable enough to forget about, you can walk to the restaurant instead of booking a Grab. Add a little clutch, let the dress do the talking, order the second glass.

The weekend
Roll the sleeves on a white linen shirt, pull on your comfiest wide-leg jeans, sling a woven bag over your shoulder, and that is Saturday sorted. The almond flat keeps it neat where a sneaker would tip it too casual and a heel would try too hard. Low effort, high reward, exactly how the weekend should go.

Is the Violet Mary-Jane flat comfortable to wear all day?
It is built for it. The upper is a lightweight, breathable engineered knit that gives a little with your foot, the buckled strap holds the shoe on so your toes are not gripping, and the removable Mia Vita footbed has Hidden Comfort arch support built in. It sits on a light, flexible rubber sole that bends as you walk.
Does the Violet Mary-Jane fit true to size?
Yes, it fits true to size and comes in a medium width. The knit has a little give, but if you usually need a wide fit, this style may feel snug across the front of your foot.
Can I wear my own orthotic in the Violet Mary-Jane?
Yes. The Mia Vita footbed lifts out, so you can keep it in for the built-in arch support or swap in your own orthotic. Take your orthotic with you when you try them on to check the fit.
How do I keep an almond knit flat clean?
Spot clean or gently hand wash, then air dry away from direct heat. The footbed lifts out so you can clean it separately. A light colour like almond shows marks sooner than black, so deal with little marks as they happen.
What do you wear with Mary-Jane flats?
Almost anything. Mary-Janes work with wide-leg jeans and a silk shirt for work, a soft knit and ecru denim for errands, a maxi dress for dinner, and a linen shirt with jeans on the weekend. Keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the strap be the detail.
